Has life gotten in the way? Writers beware…

De-clutter all that keeps you from fulfilling your true and good purpose.

It’s a reminder to seek who you are, banish all that prevents you from being your true best self!

Some think being themselves gives them an excuse to go out and be crazy: that ‘being themselves’ means they give in to every feral inkling- every sinful desire- every stupid bad idea- every immature hankering…

If you feel your purpose is to be ‘bad’ then you are missing the boat:

Google‘s definition of bad of poor quality or a low standard
-not such as to be hoped for or desired;” ‘bad’ weather”   … unpleasant or unwelcome.

Being bad means your are settling for something way below your potential.

For writers, that might mean we are letting life get in the way of our true calling, our purpose, our reason for living… it might mean we are setting our standards too low, or giving up too easily… Like those times we blow our time: laziness, lack or order, too much t.v. watching, etc.

Some commitments are more important than writing (like the commitments of a mother with young children). But even then, there will come a season where suddenly the doors of time open, writing calls, and it’s up to us to seek it out as our pearl of great treasure…

And remember, Voltaire: “The best is the enemy of the good.” Confucius: “Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without.” (Aug 31, 2015  quotes compliments of Google )    We can’t give up writing because we’re unsure or not secure, or not yet good: we write anyway, because that’s who we are…
