    • The book is always better than the movie! However, (and I date myself) it has been about 35 years since I read it- bits and pieces remain from my reading, so I had to rely on the movie, which i watched last night again!I’ve read some of her other books more recently though- more autobiographical stuff of hers. Thanks for your comment- (I’m glad to know I’m not the only Madeleine L’Engle fan. )

      • You had any experience reading Patricia McKillip? I just finished “Solstice Wood”, one of her more linear stories, and loved it. She writes like a painter in the middle of a dream it’s beautiful. Try ” winter Rose” , “The Alphabet of Thorn” and others. This woman is an author not to be missed.
PS thanks for dropping by again.

        • I did read your article. Great post”…!If her mother had decided to have the therapeutic abortion, the echthroi (a L’Engle word meaning those dark forces on the “other side” of God’s plans) would have rejoiced because L’Engle’s writings have had a profoundly positive and healing effect on her readers. ..”
I, too, have read many of her works…Your article is well worth the read- you give a great summary of her life and work!

  1. One of my most, most favorite books. L’Engle is magical. Have you read her other series, starring the Austins? A Ring Of Endless Light ranks among my top favorite books ever.
